Matthew Barnett

Joining Sharegain in 2016 as one of the very first employees, I've worked across Operations, Middle Office and Relationship Management roles at various points since entering finance in 1997. Having started my post-University career on the buy-side - I moved to the sell side, working for major global Investment Banks for the majority of my pre-Sharegain working life (Deutsche, Lehman Brothers, Barclays) - with my last role as the EMEA Head of Equity Finance Middle Office at Barclays – incorporating Trade Support, Collateral Management and Financing teams.

As a passionate architect of change - my initial attraction to define and build solutions to support the industry in which we operate is still as strong all these years later as it always has been.

A major sports fan in all its forms, I try to participate as often as I can - although the legs are not quite as up to it as the used to be. Now I'm more often to be found cycling opposed to tearing around a football pitch - and rather vicariously participate in watching my teenage son and daughter.
